Free Chrome tracking checker
Check the action. Keep the evidence.
Sonar Extension opens beside your site in Chrome. Say what a form or purchase should send, take the action yourself, and see straight away whether the page sent it. Fix it yourself, or let Dolphin Analytics fix it for you.

If both purchases reach your analytics, every sale counts twice, and your ad platforms think you sold more than you did.

Ada Ventures How it works
- 01
Open
Click the extension on your site. It opens in Chrome's side panel, so your page stays in view.
- 02
Set
Pick the action, the event it should send, how many times, and the fields you need.
- 03
Take the action
Start the check. Sonar reloads the tab, then you submit the form or test purchase.
- 04
Get the verdict
A match or a difference, with every observed event listed and a report you can keep.
See it in action
Watch Sonar Extension check a lead form, catch a duplicate purchase and save the evidence, in 40 seconds.
What you gain by checking every action
Broken conversions caught early
Check a form or checkout after every site change, before a week of ad spend learns from bad data.
Proof your developer can act on
Hand over a report that shows the event you expected, what the page sent, and where the two differ.
Answers without reading code
You say what should happen. Sonar shows whether it did, in plain words.
This is what you get back
Not a list of tags. Every check ends in a clear verdict, with each observed event and its fields listed. These come from Sonar Extension's demo shop.
Lead form check
- Expected1 × generate_lead
- Observed1 × generate_lead
The event name, count and fields you set all matched on the page.
Test purchase
- Expected1 × purchase
- Observed2 × purchase
A duplicate purchase. Both carried value, currency and items, so only the count gives it away.
Evidence report
- A self-contained HTML report
- Save it as a PDF from Print
- A developer brief to paste into a ticket
The report stays on your device until you choose to share it.
Six checks. One verdict.
Lead forms
Whether an enquiry sends generate_lead, or the event you name, exactly once.
Ecommerce events
Product views, add to basket, checkout and purchase.
Event counts
Missing events and duplicates, like one sale sent twice.
Required fields
Whether value, currency, items and the other fields you need are there.
Tracking tools
The tags a page references, such as Google Tag Manager, GA4, Google Ads and Meta, with their IDs.
Consent defaults
The Consent Mode defaults a page declares before anyone chooses.

Local, not uploaded.
Sonar Extension keeps its evidence in your browser. Nothing goes to Dolphin Analytics unless you choose to share it. A match means the page sent the event you expected. It doesn't prove that Google Analytics or another platform received it, and Sonar says so on every result.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Chrome tracking checker?
A Chrome tracking checker watches the tracking events a page sends while you use it. Sonar Extension lets you say which event a form or purchase should send, how many times and with which fields, then compares that with what the page actually sent.
Is Sonar Extension free?
Yes. It's one of Dolphin Analytics' free tools, alongside the Sonar website scan. You don't need an account.
Does a match mean Google Analytics got the data?
No. A match means the event name, count and fields you chose matched the events Sonar observed on the page. Check receipt in Google Analytics, or whichever platform you use, separately.
Does Sonar Extension send my data to Dolphin Analytics?
No. Evidence stays in your browser and nothing goes to a Dolphin server. The Speak to Dolphin button only opens our contact page, and you decide what to share.
Why does it ask for access to my site?
Sonar needs to reload the tab you chose and follow events as you move between pages on the same site. It asks for that one site when you start a check, not for every site.
Will it change my website?
No. It reads what the page exposes and never changes your tracking code. Starting a check reloads the tab, so save any unfinished work first.
What can't it check?
Sonar Extension sees events in the page's dataLayer and gtag. It can't see server-side tracking, network delivery, events in other frames, or events removed before it observes them.
Which browsers does it work in?
Sonar Extension is built for desktop Chrome and uses Chrome's side panel.
